Frequently Asked Questions

Is the UFW Store really part of the United Farm Workers?

Yes. Founded in 1965, The UFW Store, originally known as El Taller Grafico, has been the UFW's merchandising arm selling UFW products in support of the farm worker movement for nearly five decades.

How much of each sale goes to support the farm worker movement?

Every last penny. That's right, all the proceeds from the sales of our products go directly to support the UFW's organizing efforts.

If I buy something and it doesn't fit, or if it's defective or damaged, what can I do?

How do I know when the store I’m shopping at is a licensed distributor?

A licensed distributor of UFW products will always include the ® symbol next to any UFW trademark, such as SI SE PUEDE or the UFW Eagle. The distributor should display the decal showing that they are an authorized UFW dealer or have a written licensing agreement. If the distributor is selling UFW products online, its web site should include the decal, as well as the following notice: “The UFW Eagle and SI SE PUEDE are registered trademarks of the United Farm Workers and are used with permission.” Any licensed distributor has agreed to use the UFW Eagle or SI SE PUEDE trademarks in a way that tells consumers that the trademarks are the federally registered property of the UFW.

Why should I buy from a licensed distributor only?

You should always purchase UFW Eagle and SI SE PUEDE Marked goods from a licensed distributor or the UFW store so that the profits go to farm workers and in support of other UFW supported programs like immigration reform, farm worker organizing, and community development. Non-licensed distributors are exploiting the historic Marks of the UFW for their own profit, plain and simple.

What if MegaCorp, or my small business, wants to become a licensed distributor of UFW goods?

You can become a licensed distributor of products using SI SE PUEDE or the Eagle Mark in one of two ways:
  1. Follow this link to the UFW offices web page where you can find information on trademark and the questionnaire to apply for a licensing agreement with the UFW. A licensing agreement will allow you to make, print, and sell your own products that use SI SE PUEDE or the Eagle Mark.
  2. Visit our Dealer Sign-up Page where you can order SI SE PUEDE and EAGLE Marked goods right from the UFW store, no assembly required!
